International Game Day

The 28th May, is the International Play Day. This is an initiative of the ITLA (International Toy Library Association), launched in 1998 by Freda Kim, which seeks to remind everyone that play is a right of the children – essential at all stages of life – and that adults (parents, educators, institutions, administrations…) have the responsibility to guarantee the necessary conditions to encourage play.

In this sense, the Domus Ludens project has organised during the week of May 22 activities in different Residential Centres of the Resilis Foundation (Spain), the Für Soziales Foundation ( Germany) and the Fundacja Samodzielni Robinsonowie (Poland), to continue working with the aim of demonstrating the effectiveness of playing through a maintained and sustained activity for the promotion of emotional benefits in children and adolescents, in their competences and in the relational climate of the service.

During that week, extensive gaming sessions and playful activities have taken place; games competitions, championships among the centers, outdoor activities and special meals. See for yourself…
